<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>An analysis and systematization of scientific literature on the combination of asthma and COVID-19 was conducted using the scientific databases PubMed/MEDLINE and eLIBRARY.RU. The data on the relationship between asthma and COVID-19 are shown to be contradictory. The mechanism of inflammation development and its characteristics in the new coronavirus infection are discussed. The significant role of natural killer (NK) cells and T-natural killer (T-NK) cells in the pathogenesis of the disease is emphasized. The importance of the type of inflammation in asthma in the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection is concluded. Information on the dual nature of the data regarding the use of inhaled corticosteroids in the treatment of asthma in patients with COVID-19 is presented. The authors conclude that the results of current research do not allow a definitive conclusion to be drawn about a higher predisposition to SARS-CoV-2 infection or more severe COVID-19 in asthma patients, nor about the negative impact of COVID-19 on the course and control of asthma.  </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>бронхиальная астма</kwd><kwd>коронавирусная инфекция</kwd><kwd>COVID-19</kwd><kwd>NK-клетки</kwd><kwd>воспаление</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>asthma</kwd><kwd>coronavirus infection</kwd><kwd>COVID-19</kwd><kwd>NK cells</kwd><kwd>inflammation</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Свист П. Н.
