ESTIMATION OF ELASTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ARTERIAL VESSELS by REGISTRATION OF CARDIO-ANKLE-VASCULAR INDEX IN PATIENTS WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

Abstract

124 patients with bronchial asthma were studied on the elastic properties of arterial vessels by volume sphygmography depending on the severity of the disease. It was found out that in patients with asthma in comparison with healthy people the processes of remodeling of arterial channel had mainly the increase of rigidity of main arteries of elastic type which was proved by the rise of values of basic parameters that reflect vessel stiffness - carotid-femoral velocity of a pulse wave, the index of augmentation, right/left heart malleolar vessel index. The acceleration of pulse wave velocity by main arteries of the elastic type in patients with bronchial asthma was combined with the rise of augmentation index, which proves more significant functional activity of endothelium at the growth of asthma severity.
